The transformative power of geosynthetics in sustainable solutions will be showcased at the global Environmental Services & Solutions Expo (ESS 2025) next month.

IGS Executive Director John Kraus will represent the Society at Stand CLR-M24 in the Contamination & Land Remediation (CLR) section of the event at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, UK. He will be joined by representatives of IGS Premium Corporate Members.

Some 12,000 visitors are expected from more than 60 countries at this year's event, taking place on September 17-18, featuring environmental services professionals from across the supply chain. This year's key themes are net zero, biodiversity and the circular economy.

Participation will be pivotal in introducing geosynthetics and the IGS to new audiences, sharing the environmental benefits of using geosynthetics in multi-disciplinary engineering applications, and highlighting the expertise of the IGS's global membership.

Mr Kraus said: "Our attendance at ESS 2025 is just the beginning of our outreach plans at industry exhibitions around the world. We want to spark conversations with new audiences, strengthen connections with existing stakeholders, and ultimately raise awareness of how we can build a greener world with geosynthetics.

"CLR draws visitors from across the contamination and geotechnical supply chain so we're looking forward to the opportunity to engage everyone from engineers and contractors to policymakers, consultancies and mining companies.

This will also be a chance for us to highlight our Premium Corporate Membership scheme and provide additional exposure for these members, who have made a truly significant contribution to the Society. Whatever your level of knowledge or involvement in geosynthetics or the IGS please drop by our stand to discover more."

Registration to ESS 2025 is free and you can do so here. The event is expected to have 300 seminar sessions with more than 350 speakers and 600 exhibitors over the two days.

Visit the IGS at Stand CLR-M24, or book ahead for a one-to-one chat at the event with John Kraus and team by emailing john.kraus@geosyntheticssociety.org.

The IGS is also due to have stands at the HYDRO expo in Thessaloniki, Greece (October 22-24) and the Tailings & Mine Waste conference (November 2-5) in Banff, Canada. These will be supported by IGS Premium Corporate Members.
